Aetna To Tell Women More About EAPs

A managed care company is trying to help employers get more value from employee assistance programs.

Aetna Inc., Hartford, is starting a pilot program that will tell women more about how EAPs can help them with concerns such as domestic violence, child adoption, infertility issues and dealing with a medical diagnosis.

Aetna will tailor the EAP education messages to appeal to women at different stages of life, the company says.

Aetna research has shown that women tend to like the EAP concept, and that they like the idea of hearing about how an EAP can help them at various stages of life, such as when they are just starting out and when they are raising a family, Aetna says.
