House: Our Health Bill Is Almost Here 

The House "Tri-Committee" team says it is almost done with blending the House health bills.

The team includes the House Ways and Means Committee, the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and the House Education and Labor Committee. Each committee passed its own version of the America's Affordable Health Choices Act back in July.

“In the House, we are nearly finished blending the bills passed by our committees," the Tri-Committee team says in a statement welcoming Senate Finance Committee approval of its health bill draft, the chairman's mark of the America's Healthy Future Act.

Finance Committee approval of the AHFA mark "means that all five of congressional committees of jurisdiction have passed health insurance reform – an historic feat in its own right," the Tri-Committee team says.

The leaders of the Tri-Committee team are Ways and Means Chairman Charles Rangel, D-N.Y.; Energy and Commerce Chairman Henry Waxman, D-Calif.; and Education and Labor Chairman George Miller, D-Calif.
