Insurer Stays Course On Mammograms

The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America says its health care plans will continue to follow its current insurance coverage guidelines for mammography screenings.

Recently, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommended increasing the age for annual mammography screenings from age 40 to 50 for women who were not considered at high risk for breast cancer.

The Guardian, New York, notes its existing guidelines are line with the recommended mammography screening frequency issued by both the American Cancer Society and the American Medical Association.
