Firms Ally On N.C. School Worksite Plans

A voluntary benefits carrier has teamed up with 2 other firms to upgrade enrollments of workers at North Carolina schools.

Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company, Columbia, S.C., a unit of Unum Group Corp., Chattanooga, Tenn., is tying its own enrollment system to a program from Benefitfocus, Charleston, S.C., a healthcare benefits software firm.

The benefits and enrollment system are provided through Pierce Group Benefits, Holly Springs, N.C.

Colonial Life has joined its own Harmony enrollment system to Benefitfocus’s InTouch software to provide North Carolina public school and community college employees an interactive experience during open enrollment periods.

The program enables employees to enroll in dental, vision, and life insurance plans, along with flexible spending accounts and Colonial Life voluntary benefits, according to Benefitfocus.
