Firm Taps Wall Street

J.G. Wentworth & Company Inc. says it has raised $117 million by selling notes backed by annuities and structured settlements.

J.G. Wentworth, Bryn Mawr, Pa., previously raised $99 million through a note offering in October 2007.

The transaction is the company's 18th securitization since 1997, J.G. Wentworth says.

The firm buys life insurance policies, annuity income streams, structured settlement income streams and other illiquid financial assets.
