An international financial services company is establishing a home away from home in the Windy City.
Aviva P.L.C., London, acquired AmerUs Group Company, Des Moines, Iowa, a major indexed annuity and indexed life insurance seller, in 2006.
Aviva also has a large property-casualty operation in Toronto.
The existing life operations will continue to be based in Des Moines, and existing property-casualty operations will continue to be based in Toronto, Aviva says.
Aviva picked Chicago as a regional headquarters city because of its diverse economy and central location, the company says.
Aviva hopes the Chicago location will “help drive growth in our strong long-term savings, asset management and general insurance businesses in North America,” the company says.
